Tour de Himmelfart 2020 cancelled
The 18th edition of one of Europe’s largest youth stage races, the popular Tour de Himmelfart organized by Odder Cykel Klub, has been cancelled.
It is with deep regret that we at Odder Cykel Klub (The Cycling Club of Odder) must cancel our 18th edition of the stage race, Tour de Himmelfart. A race that has attracted many different nations since 2003.
With the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic across Europe and the rest of the world, it is impossible for us to host the 2020 edition of Tour de Himmelfart. We have always completed the event with special attention to safety and security – for both the participants and the spectators. This cannot be guaranteed under the current circumstances.
There should be no doubt, that the same thoroughness that characterises our planning and completion of Tour de Himmelfart, was also given to the many considerations concerning the 2020 edition prior to the final decision to cancel the race.
Tour de Himmelfart will return next year!
Though we are sorry to have to cancel this year’s race, we are already eagerly looking forward to Tour de Himmelfart 2021 and are now even more motivated to come back and host a great stage race in 2021.
If you have already paid the participation fee for the 2020 edition, the amount will be refunded.
